How important is attraction

My gf and I both in our 30s have tried this for about a year. From small sessions to large groups, we have found it very difficult to find people we’re attracted to.
I personally have not found one attractive female while she’s been okay with some guys. Other than that it’s been no options.
So I pose the question, how important is looks when I see people doing glory holes and huge gang bangs. Is it just for the sex?
