Okay, hear me out. I know it’s really bad to play with vanilla friends. And I (we) have zero intention of doing that.

However, a few months ago I disclosed to a good friend that my husband and I had been talking about swinging/ENM. I was surprised when she said that she and her husband have been talking about it on and off for a few years.

It has been really cool having someone I’ve known for ages, someone that I care about and trust, to discuss these things with. I would never, NEVER, want to play with her or her husband. They mean too much to me, and I wouldn’t want to risk that. I’m certain that they feel the same way.

That said, what are the thoughts of attending lifestyle clubs/resorts with pre-LS friends that you don’t intend to play with?

My friends live across the country from us, so we only see them every couple of years. Although they have been talking about ENM, they haven’t participated in anything yet, and my husband and I have only gone to a swingers club once, as voyeurs.

My friends are thinking about taking a trip to a lifestyle resort, and I thought it might be fun for my husband and I to meet up with them there. I’ve also considered checking out a club with them the next time we visit.

I know not playing with them doesn’t mean things stay completely vanilla. They’ll see us playing as a couple, and with others. We’ll obviously see parts of them that we’ve never seen, all while being intimate with others.

Would doing something like this risk the friendship? Enhance it? Just make things generally more awkward?

I’m curious if anyone here has been in a similar situation, and what came of it.
