Has anyone ever faced semi- or fairly serious extortion threats from a connection on SLS? We met a unicorn (red flag, I know) on SLS who looked at our profile. Had innocent chats that quickly migrated to Kik and got a little steamier (on their part, honestly). The attempt was to try to organize a group chat and get to know each other.

Then, out of the blue, I’m being asked to pay $300 or my information will be released on Facebook and Messenger. (Fortunately, they didn’t have our personal information correct.)

If you’re trying to earnestly make new friends in the lifestyle and vet them for attraction, personal connection, etc., how can you even avoid putting yourself out there a little and hence opening yourself up to this type of scam?

Feeling very disappointed / chagrined, right now. 😏
