How many of you actually use apps to meet new partners?

I'm thinking about putting together a swinger focused app that, while swipe based, is more focused on the actual act of meeting up and making it event-based as opposed to people-based. I personally use SDC and Feeld, and while those are great in a vacuum, they both leave a lot to be desired. So based on that I'm curious to hear what you all use and your level of success with it.

While we've tried various apps over the years they're either too sparsely populated or we continually get banned (see: Tinder) for pretty vanilla use (we mention we're a couple and open to singles or couples - not exactly getting crazy, vanilla photos, etc).

In our experience, Tinder is without question the best avenue for meeting singles and other lifestyle people, despite the issues with getting accounts banned. In saying that, we haven't used it in nearly two years due to both of our accounts finally being banned and not having enough motivation to go out and do whatever we need to do in order to start with another.

Feeld is usable and, depending on metro area, potentially a very good option. In many major US cities it's great - though buggy and not entirely user-friendly (either with the interface or the features).

SDC/Kasidie/SLS/etc are all horrible experiences in 2023. While all of them can be used successfully, again regionally dependent.. it's painful.

Reddit, in our experience, is really the only option worth using these days. It also has it's issues (myriads) but the potential for success is not only higher the ceiling of how successful is also higher. (ie: seemingly more attractive, active and better "alignment" for us in terms of whether or not we'll get along with the people)

At the end of the day it's been exhausting over the last few years - it's nice that the lifestyle as a whole seems to be exploding but there's so much friction and noise to deal with that it's created quite the moat of effort in order to get into the "this was worth it" range.
