54M, married 26 years (together for 29) to a sweet, loving, wonderful, but very vanilla and religiously strict minded woman. Our marriage has lasted because we genuinely are best friends and I am overall satisfied.... But..... There's always a but though... On the sexual side. To be clear, I honestly don't know if I would want to swing with my Wife. I had one girlfriend in my younger years where we had a regular 3rd who would come play with us. She liked playing with girls as well and I enjoyed the show. I know that I have no desire to cheat on my Wife...... So what is my point of this post? I want to learn how to increase openness and communicate better with my Wife in regards to things sexual. This is where I am jealous of people in the Lifestyle. I have a few friends and have watched the obligatory episodes of Swing & read quite a bit about the lifestyle. There are a lot of things I see as positives to the lifestyle, some negatives from what little I actually know, but the one thing that really impresses me is how open and communicative couples seem to be. My question starts with: Is this something that people" bring into the lifestyle or is it something couples tend to learn with experience? " I really want this level of openness and communication with my wife in regards to our sex life. We've had ups and downs that come with hormone changes, weight gain and loss and raising kiddos. It just seems that sex discussions end up becoming discussions about animosity and pent up feelings rather than a partnership moving towards a goal. I absolutely cherish my wife and want that openness to extend into our sex life that we seem to have with everything else. I know a big part of this has to do with my approach, so I am reaching out to this community to ask for tips, tricks and work I can do on myself to make me a better communicator.... and hopefully a better overall lover...for my Wife and our marriage.
