Low success through apps/sites

My wife and I are new to this. Been trying Reddit and apps/sites like Swingular, 3fun and AFF. We do get a lot of matches and messages. But it's nothing but, "Hey, how is your day?" Very small talk like that. Then they just seem to disappear. A couple chats have gotten very sexual with "couples" but we are thinking those are fake and/or just single dudes.
Are facebook private groups a better option? Or do we really just need to make it to the LS clubs and Meet-N-Greets to have any chance of meeting real couples and females?
