Hello! Fairly new to the lifestyle and just wondering what the general idea of getting spontaneous partners vs getting to know people before any particular play?

Wife and I have been slowly getting acclimated into the pool of swinging and had a few encounters, but both of us found that once we made an actual connection with a person that we all enjoyed the play a bit more. We haven't done much spontaneous play, but everytime we have we've been a bit disappointed. Though we haven't been to an actual club or event that was catered to swingers.

What do you prefer and why? Also if anyone is up in the PNW we're always down to make new friends in the area!
