Me (35f) and my husband (36m) just spent 6 nights in cap d’agde. We were so nervous heading into this trip because there is so little information online, so feel free to read through and hope we can help others experience what is quite literally the best place is the world.
What is cap d’agde and how do I get there? Cap d’agde is a gated village in the south of France. Agde is the bigger city you’ll take the train to and cap d’agde is the nudist village. You have to either stay in the village or buy a day pass to enter. We came from Chicago and took a direct flight to Paris. From there we grabbed a taxi to Gare de Lyon train station which was about 45 minutes. Then we took a 4 hour train to Agde. We pre booked another taxi which took us the 20 minute drive to cap d’agde. They took us to the gate and once we checked in it was a 4 minute walk to our hotel. All in all it was about 18 hours door to door.
Once in cap d’agde, it’s unlikely you’ll leave. Everything is within a 10 minute walk from everything else. There are no taxis and they are not necessary. Some people did get around on bikes or scooters, but most walk.
Where should I stay? For accommodations, you can book a hotel or apartment. We opted for a hotel room at the Jardin de Babylone. I don’t think your accommodations matter all that much. We’d probably do an apartment next time. Our hotel did have a fridge and microwave which was very helpful. There was also free breakfast which we slept through every day. We paid extra for daily housekeeping which was necessary for us. This was probably the best perk over an apartment.
Where to eat? We found 2 cafes which were good for grab and go options like croissants, sandwiches, quiche, etc. There are also a few super markets so we did have a few meals in the room. There is also no late night food (the only thing this town is missing) so grab groceries during to day if you know you’ll be out late and want to eat. We ate at a few restaurants and I really enjoyed the food. I didn’t really find any classic French cuisine but there were seafood restaurants, pizza, sushi, Italian, etc. Eating wasn’t really our focus this trip so I can’t give too much advise here. I will caution though that a lot of restaurants didn’t have English menus and we usually didn’t have a phone on us to use google translate. This was the main reason we limited eating out.
What to do during the day? Most people walk around naked during the day or with bottoms on. Some people have skimpy clothes like swim suits. Some people are in street clothes. Most are some level of undressed though. You can do everything naked. Eat, shop, grocery store. There are lingerie stores everywhere for both men and women. They also carry a lot of essentials if you forget anything. Most people are at the beach during the day. There is a family friendly beach (and you will see kids here but not a lot) and farther down there is the x-rated beach. Most people are just lounging at the beach but some people will have sex and there’s usually a group of men masturbating around them. Most older people are at the beach.
There is a spa type sex club that is open during the day. There is a couples only side and single males side with a door indoor to move between the two if you wanted.
Jardin de Babylone also throws a pool party on Wednesdays and Fridays which is open to the public but free if you stay at the hotel. This is also nude and sex is allowed.
By and far the absolutely best thing to do during the day is go to Glaumour. This is the place of the famous foam party. There is a pool area with dj, dancing, some entertainment and then a back area with the foam. It gets packed and is hard to move around. Probably over 1,000 people. Almost everyone is naked but we did see some ladies with bottoms on or lingerie. You can also wear flip flops. I read some people online say you can’t but you can. Entry was $25 (euros but I’ll just say $) for a couple and bag check was $3. Most mixed drinks throughout the entire village will run you $10. Glaumour is open 2-7 and let me tell you as someone who has been to swinger events, pool parties, and clubs all over the world, this is by far, hands down, the greatest party in the world. Sex is allowed and common everywhere. Most people are good looking and in shape. Hands go everywhere in the foam. A polite general no or gentle push stopped anything unwanted. Bring a water proof pouch for money and condoms. This wasn’t like any swingers party we’ve ever been too where people meet then head back for privacy in a maze of rooms, instead it’s a jam packed vegas style day club with just mass amounts people fucking and raging all day. If the ancient Roman’s had cdj’s this would be the party historians would talk about. All the djs play EDM.
What to do at night? After you go back to your room to shower and change for the night, you’ll need to put clothes on. No one is naked at night. There are a ton of bars, some chill, some loud. Around midnight the sex clubs open. Men must be in long pants and closed toe shoes. Most wear collard shirts. Women are in sexy dresses or lingerie and heels. This dress code is strictly enforced. My favorite club was Glamour. The same people who do the day club but next door. Tantra was another favorite, it was a dark nightclub with just massive open crowded rooms of people fucking. No real private areas. There is also a bdsm club which we didn’t go to but the dress code sign said leather mandatory. There is also a gay/queer club with no dress code. There’s more too you can check out, but the sexiest people are at Glamour. Glaumour is also the closest to a more traditional swingers club. The dance floor and dj upstairs are absolutely amazing. Play rooms are downstairs. Be sure to not miss the pitch black dark room in the back of the couples play area. Honestly some of the hottest times we’ve ever had. The clubs close around 6am. Glamour entry was $70/couple and included 4 drinks or $60 for 2 drinks. I think the other clubs were cheaper than this. All in I think there were a dozen swingers clubs of all varying sizes and themes.
What else? Everyone is very nice. Some speak English, some don’t. We only speak English and we got by. Most play is initiated with others by some light touching and it escalates from there. If you are not interested just push their hand away and they will be respectful. Rejection is part of the lifestyle but play here is so much easier than anywhere I’ve been too. Everyone used condoms for full swap. That alone was super hot. Even though we were 18 hours from home, once we got here everything just worked itself out. Don’t stress about finding the clubs or play partners, everything is in plain sight. A smile, being present in the moment will get even the most timid people the times of their life. This was seriously the sexiest, most sexual, most fun place I’ve ever been. Nothing like hedo or temptations, they both pale in comparison to here. This is everything a sex resort should be and yet it’s an entire village. Do not hesitate to book a trip. It should be a bucket list item for any swinger.
Thanks for great info, :) Swedish couple
