Our Secrets Hideaway Review

TL;DR = We enjoyed our stay and would probably go again.

We recently spent a weekend at Secrets Hideaway in Kissimmee and wanted to share our thoughts on the resort. Like plenty of other reviews, this was just our experience while we were there.

Pros:

  • Staff was very nice and helpful throughout our stay (this will come up later). Any issue we had, they had a solution.

  • The specific room we stayed in was nice and the other rooms that we ventured into were nice as well. You could see the unique spin that the owners of the rooms took to it to make it nice and we really appreciated that.

  • A lot of times when we go to lifestyle parties and clubs, itā€™s predominantly an EDM/pop hit music-a-thon when it comes to what music is played.

  • The DJs they had the 4 nights we stayed were all great. The DJs had a nice mix of tracks that was a good mix of nostalgic and fresh.

  • It honestly just felt great to be naked outdoors and in the open. The wife and I just spent a good amount of time taking walks with each other at night when we werenā€™t playing. It was way more relaxing than I thought itā€™d be and I kinda miss it.

Cons:

  • Roaches. There were plenty of roaches in our room when we got there. We both didnā€™t grow up in the greatest of places so roaches were nothing new, but paying a good sum of money to stay somewhere, itā€™s something we didnā€™t want to see and made the stay somewhat uncomfortable.

That being said, when we identified that we had roaches in the room, the staff came in and sprayed fairly promptly. Once that happened, we didnā€™t see any during our stay. We also went to the local dollar store and picked up some traps for the bugs. That seemed to help too

  • The ā€œnickel and dime-ingā€ that I heard about before coming was fairly true. Once you check in, thereā€™s a bunch more fees that you have to pay, to go along with the resort fee you paid just to stay there. While it was nice to have a room and have a hotel takeover kind of feel, it kinda stunk having to pay a bunch of fees upon arrival, especially when the rooms arenā€™t cheap either.

Overall, weā€™d definitely go again, but will probably do a day/night pass and stay somewhere locally. The cons didnā€™t outweigh the pros but the first con (the roaches) definitely put a dent in our comfort levels with the place. But I did really enjoy the room we stayed in and the people we met while being there.
