Pretty open-minded bi guy and been with my wife for 10yrs now (7 married). I’ve been interested in opening things up with other people for a while and it did take some time to get over the thought/imagining my wife with other men/women (kinda turns me on now).
I’ve recently had a change in motivation to get life back in track, we have been trying for a family for a bit now and trying to be as honest and communicative as we can without it devolving to a place of insecurity (bad habit of this for the both of us). We are actually in a hugely better spot these last few weeks, having sex daily if not multiple times a day (we’ve gone weeks without prior). I’ve known she’s freaky, but with why she wants to try, I’m excited to open and explore together in the bedroom.
In our talks, I did mention I wouldn’t be opposed to opening things up. She took it ok, have had a few conversations since talking to each other what we want from one another. She’s open to playing in the future, but is afraid once we play we will find other people to be with and leave each other. I’m sure this is a common fear, one I understand but no one will steal me from my wife. Thought of swinging just sounds fun.
We are getting into more detailed talks about what we enjoy in the bedroom (just the two of us) and what else we want to try out. I know it’ll take some time (maybe never) for her to become more open to the idea, so I’m trying not to rush anything.
Those of you who were hesitant and came around, was there anything your partner did to help you feel comfortable? I know swinging comes from a very secure and stable relationship, which I’m working on getting back on track.
We are also trying to start a family, so I know that’ll be a focus for a while for sure. Where were you in your family process when you started swinging?
Thanks for the info! Just looking around and doing more research into the life style
