Is soft swap even worth it?

We are 23/23 from the UK. We first got into ‘all this’ from running a mildly popular twitter. Therefore we love making content and sharing the content.
We did some light swinging last yeah but we both agreed we would never want to go past the soft swap stage.
Most couples are either into full blown meeting and swinging or nothing at all it seems.
Is soft swap worth it? Have people been able to have a good time with soft swaps?
Is it better to swing with people you know well or new people?
