boyfriend says there's no excitement at hotels

We're new, bf wanted to start going to clubs and hotel takeovers. We've never played even with each other at one because he says he's uncomfortable. Says he wants to go more but then keeps backing out last min. I'm a bit tired of getting jerked around. Should I just say no more plans unless he's serious? I'm not going to make him go, of course. But he opened this door and I'd love to explore it, but I'm definitely not making him go. Any thoughts?
