We’ve been swinging for about a year but this weekend is our first hotel takeover, and we will be staying at the hotel for two nights. We share our location on Google maps with our teen children and some of our parents, as a convenient way of letting us all keep track of each other for school pickups and other things on our busy schedules.
Normally, when we go to our local club, we just set our phones to incognito mode in the Google map app, and we just disappear off the map for a few hours, which hasn’t attracted much attention from the family. Now we’ll be gone for two nights, and I’m feeling like they are going to take note that we are both suddenly invisible. (The hotel takeover is in the next town over, but we’ve told everyone we’re going to a vacation rental a few hours away). My kids/parents don’t stalk us but they definitely do use our locations as a reference fairly often, and they might check our location just out of habit.
I’m already trying to throw them all off the scent this week by frequently going incognito so it doesn’t seem like a sudden change.
Any bright ideas for covering our tracks in a less clumsy way?
