My husband and I have been having communication issues and we have both expressed we don't feel valued by the other. Things got very hostile in our home and my husband suggested we could do counseling when I told him I could not do this anymore. He is now backing out of therapy because he does not want the therapist to know we are swingers. he does not want to tell them about our personal lives or be told how to behave. I feel that if we are not fully open in therapy it's really a waste of money. I don't see how we will be able to get through more than 1 or 2 sessions without swinging coming up. It is my husband's only recreational activity and the only thing we do together on the weekends. The fact that we only do his hobby together and he does not wish to take part in my hobbies (video games and table top games for the most part but also things like taking evening walks together) is one of the issues we need to work out. Has anyone else done therapy as a couple and how did it go? Did you feel the therapist judged you negatively for swinging? Did they encourage you to stop or respect different lifestyles?
