I have been swimming in 20-30 minute workouts for awhile now. Just the other day I did a 1.5 hour one with a group. All went great (very fun) except one thing… my fingers hurt after a large length of breast stroke.
The same thing happened to me after only 150 yd of it yesterday.
It’s possible that free or butterfly are playing into it but it always seems to come after breaststroke.
Now my breast stroke I am not proud of but what I am happy about is how little I move my hands (so I don’t beat myself in recovery) they go from streamline to a fast pull to a triangle about forehead height and then back.
Anywho the finger hurting thing makes me think I’m doing something wrong as I haven’t heard of this before. When it comes up I end up doing especially breast stroke with my fingers open and it helps but I would really like to get to the bottom of this.
