I think one of the things that made TTPD not work for a lot of audience is that it's an absolutely miserable album covering a low point in taylor's life there are some great songs on here but none of them are radio songs or something you want to party with
That doesn't just go with TTPD it goes with her last few albums like midnights, evermore and folklore all of them had this melodramatic tone which many people may have gotten sick of it (now I'm not criticising those albums the folk albums are still great and midnights has it's moments)
I think the next album should be her least personal one have the fictional narrative like the folk albums with the fun production of lover and 1989 , this would work well with Jack if she wants him around and bring in ryan tedder and shellback if she's on good terms with them (they did work the TV version unlike max martin)
Basically I want another 1989 or atleast an attempt of it
I obviously didnât mean win in terms of awards. I meant win in terms of people bitching about her lyrics. Donât be so intentionally obtuse.
Whenever she has fun or non-metaphor-like lyrics, people shit on those too. I still remember when the lyrics to But Daddy I Love Him leaked and people bitched about how âdumbâ they were because they werenât folklore level. She really canât win.

You said she feels like she has to make a metaphor out of every lyric. I said even when she doesnât do that, and tries to have fun with her lyrics, people complain about them being too simple or juvenile. When I said âshe canât winâ, I meant in the minds of everyone, she will never make everyone happy.
I never said she shouldnât be critiqued.
