Episode 7 reveals that the scientists at Fort Smith have been injecting microbes into chicken eggs. We see the chickens and the eggs; we’re talking literal chicken eggs (this is not a metaphor).

How did a human with deer features grow from a chicken egg? Shouldn’t he have a beak or something? This seems to make no sense.

The only alternative I can think of is that they began with chicken eggs, then progressed to human embryos (which would have been insanely unethical). But the fact this isn’t mentioned seems to connect Gus to the chicken eggs.
