What traits should a surveyor have?

Post Body

Hi Surveyors, I've sometimes wondered if this may be a career for me and today have seen a job ad for an entry level position (in regional Australia). I don't know much about the day-to-day work you do, so find it hard to know if it would actually suit me. What traits, skills, or interests might suggest a good fit for the job? FYI I'm 36F and have been working in admin roles for the last 8 years or so. Will they even read my resume?....

If it's Mine Surveying (Queensland here) it's a relatively easy job. Long hours if you're on a roster but mostly field work with UAVs and setouts.

Town jobs are relatively low stress in remote areas too. Inner City jobs tend to have longer hours and tighter deadlines.

It really depends on the type and area, but in all cases attention to detail is important.
