Might have a job as a Survey Technician. What should I know about this field?

Post Body
I have my bachelors in GIS and while I never really thought of working as a surveyor I had a woman at a small (less than 10 people) reach out to me and show interest inn hiring me. I am somewhat hesitant because I have read several posts saying this job title is low pay, long hours and digging holes (which doesn't seem sexy but I guess if overtime?).
I don't mind a few years of hard work to get to advance and make 65-70k so I can move out. Is this field good or am I getting myself into a dead end job?
