Surface pro 3 not waking up from sleep except after pushing it (giving cor)

My wife's surface 3 decided to not wake up after sleep I tried everything holding the power for 30 seconds to a minute and the power and vol up none of them work. Then I came across this guys tutorial of giving cor to it( flip it over and push down on the middle few times) and this thing came back to life. What is causing this to happen I even replaced the battery because the same thing happen before and I thought it could be a bad battery (which it decided to come back to live while removing the screen. Is there a fix for this
