Skyrim crashing on brand new Surface Book?

So I just got a new Surface book the other day. i5 processor, but I didn't get the Nvidia graphics card. I am a very amateur gamer, really I've only played Skyrim and Life is Strange. I downloaded Skyrim, installed the mods I had, and then launched the game. After pressing play, then clicking to continue my game, the app crashes. Also, depending on what graphic settings I'm on, the big "Bethesda" logo at the beginning is missing. Any advice?
