So I got the i7, dGPU, 512GB version and been having a lot of fun with it all day today.
However, I have managed to get two crashes so far. One that went to bluescreen (something about watchdog?) and the other that is caused in the same situation.
I take the screen off, reverse it, and close it to use it in tablet mode with the longer battery life.
However, after a few minutes, I noticed that the screen becomes unresponsive to both pen and touch input. The keyboard and touchpad additionally stop responding. I tried sleeping the device, and using the facial recognition to log in again, but still no input worked. (The OS was still clearly running, and even rotating the screen when I rotated the device)
The first time this happened I pressed and held the release screen button, but when it released and I pulled the tablet off, I got a blue screen (with an emoticon :( sad face).
The second time this happened, I plugged in a USB mouse, used this to click on the dismount button on the taskbar and managed to release it and plug it back in. Now, however, the keyboard and touchpad work, but the touch input and pen still remain unresponsive.
My device manager still shows multiple HID compliant devices and pen devices (Seemingly the same as when its working).
Does anyone know of any way to get these back without a full restart of the surface book?
I'm currently typing out this post without restarting yet, and I want to try out looking for debugging this while the problem persists, rather than restarting. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this something that happens on the Surface Pro 4 ever? Is it a known problem on SP3s?
Thanks
Edit: I wanted to add that the eraser button still functions. I can press and hold for Cortana, but still no input from the pen on the screen itself.
