Had an eBay seller refuse a return and went nuclear on me as the device they sold had a bad IMEI, at least on AT&T, but more likely, AT&T's issues trying to figure out what the SP9 is. Kept telling me to close the request and "just use Wi-Fi" among calling me names. They offered a return if I pay return shipping of $50, which is much more than the actual shipping cost.
I gave them an option for a $500 partial refund or eBay can step in and it'll get returned anyway. You would have bet, and I let them know I'd record packaging the device and mailing it so they couldn't claim I damaged it. They refunded me $533.64 instead of budging on a $20 shipping label.
I have a sense that anger led to their poor business decisions. There was much more I could have done to compromise and find a solution on my end, but I didn't want to deal with a device that could have a bad IMEI just in case and I wasn't going to tolerate the seller's personal attacks.
I also mentioned I wouldn't leave feedback, but, I looked at their other feedback and there is this person, again, going ballistic and writing the meanest shit about their customers. Guess who is going to get feedback, and guess who's going to T-Mobile tomorrow with their half priced Surface?
