I was having a discussion with my brother the other day about his number. You know, the number in the back of your mind that allows you to actually make choices rather than weigh consequences. I came to the realization of what this (GME) really is. I'm not romanticizing it or making a fairy tale of good vs bad or any of that. This is about making money plain and simple. With one MAJOR caveat, the money isn't just numbers in an account. Those numbers represent your ability to make real CHOICES.
Most people are not in a position where they can just travel a path to a fork in the road and coinflip and be happy with it. I know I can't and I've been extremely fortunate to be working consistent through the pandemic. Every "choice" I've made over the last decade has been primarily based on the consequences of either side rather than the actual act of the choice.
This is actual freedom. The freedom to choose happiness. The freedom to choose WHEN not IF. "When will I help fund that new rescue and that library" rather than "If I help fund that I can't help this". I feel like I'm in a transition period from being a bench warmer sitting on the sidelines to actually getting out there and being an impact player.
I want to give my parents the ability to choose how they want to spend their later years instead of just working until they can't. I want to give my brother and sister the ability to choose where they want to live and how they want to spend the best years of their lives with their families. I want to make a meaningful impact to my community via donating resources. I want be able to make the choice to spend more time with my wife and kids and not grind out every ounce of energy my body can give to a job.
This is the ability to choose based on the path rather than the destination. When it comes, enjoy the real freedom.
