Yesterday an APE shared that his broker reinvested his GAMESTOP dividends, however the post is no longer available.
Whenever we talk about dividends the hype is suppressed. I wonder why?
Now, everyone here talks about dividends as if their only purpose would be to 'eXpOsE ShOrTs'. No, you're thinking like conspiracy theorists.
Dividend paying stocks are highly desirable for institutional investors. If you want pension funds, hedgefunds and family offices to buy and hodl your stock, then really you need to be paying a dividend, that is after all, the traditional purpose of buying stock.
GME recently raised $4bn as we all know, and plans to hold and invest it. This will generate significant interest income, but it came at the expense of the shareholders. It therefore makes perfect sense to share that investment income with the shareholders. I think therefore a dividend is quite likely, albeit very small.
If one happens, we're probably only looking at $0.01 per share.
"BuT tHaTs NoT eNoUgH tO fUk ThE sHoRtS!"
Yeah, no one cares, it's not about that. It IS enough to put GameStop on the ever decreasing list of stocks that actually pay a dividend, and therefore create a good reason to re-introduce institutional investment.
If you want to see the price per share rise, this is how it is done.
Having said that, the suppression of the dividend is now the same as the suppression of options. NICE.
Good weekend guys.
