I went in to a local GameStop shop yesterday to see if I can find the GameStop t-shirt that has been sold out online. When I searched for it online, it says that there were no stores that has any stock. Well I got lucky with a little shop in Garland, Texas and they had two on clearance. I took both and was offered a third t-shirt for free that was on the clearance section.
I will tell you the sacrifices of what this company has gone through in terms of trying to turn this company around. The shop I was in didn't even have air conditioning on. I know the hot summer heat of Texas would make utility costs very high. The shop manager, basically just one guy running that place, had to run a fan to try to keep cool. He was super helpful and friendly, we even had a small friendly chat. In the middle of me searching for things to buy to support the company, the fan literally broke down after making some noises. With the discounts I saved from the t-shirts, I went next door to buy him a large mango juice with ice. I told him as I was leaving if GameStop moons in the next two weeks, I will come back with a new and better fan as a gift.
These are the every day hard working people that are the foundation to keeping the GameStop dream alive. They are working on belt tightening conditions to make sure we stay close to profitability and keep the bear thesis dead. Don't forget these heroes. So here's to the hope of GameStop mooning by the end of dog days as prophesied so that I can get that brother the best damn fan I could find and keep him cool for the rest of the hot summer days in Texas. 🍻
