Personal Feelings About The Finale (Spoilers Incoming)
Post Body

Alright, so I've posted a few times on this sub over the past year, but I'll give everyone a little bit of context.

I started watching this show when it aired. I was around 12 years old, and I watched it specifically with my grandpa. We watched it religiously throughout the first 7-8 years and never missed an episode. It became our thing and the show that we could talk about on a regular basis. So I have a huge emotional/nostalgic attachment to the show.

I, like probably a lot of old-time viewers, got disenchanted by the show after the original 5 season arc. Things got weird in 6-7, got back on track in 8-11, fell off again in season 12, and then just completely went off the rails the past few seasons. But I made the effort to binge the entire series in anticipation for "The End".

Yesterday, with my grandpa, we watched the last episode of Supernatural together. A huge weight was lifted off our shoulders after years of not knowing how it would end, and if they would do the characters justice. Personally, I feel like even in COVID times, they did not do the story or the characters justice to the best of their abilities. I think they did a *good* job, but not a great job.

Why do I feel this way, you ask? Well let's start off by asking a simple question: What happened to EVERYONE else? I know this is a story about the brothers, but what happened to Alternate Bobby, Alternate Charlie, Eileen, Becky, Jody and the girls? We didn't need to *See* them, but just give us something to let us know the characters that the brothers worked to save were alright. Instead we spend it with a family we don't know and useless vampires.

Which brings me to my next point: I feel like Dean died in the worst way possible. I'm fine with him dying, and the Heaven sequences were actually some of the best parts of the entire series imo. I liked how Dean and Bobby took swigs of beer and it seemingly didn't go down at all. Endless beer. But to be killed by low level vampires, when your brother (Sam) is a SUPER POWERFUL witch?! Like do we just forget all of a sudden that Sam was Rowena level powerful by the end of the series? It would have been better for Dean to have died sacrificing himself to defeat Chuck then to die like he did. Yes, I can hear some people about to type "That's the Hunter Way." but they weren't just Hunters, they were the guys that defeated God himself.

I liked the montages at the end, there's no doubt about it, and I will *always* have a love for this show. I just wish they could have thought it through a little more on the writing and the rules of their own universe before pulling the trigger.
