Luna - Eastern Screech Owl
Post Body

After my friend Charlotte got so much love I got a request to share more pictures, so I thought I’d introduce friend of mine. Meet Luna! For context, I have the upmost privilege of volunteering at a non for profit animal sanctuary, that specializes in caring for injured and non releasable birds of prey. We are completely volunteer run. I personally help with the daily animal care (cleaning, daily feeding ect.) and actually get to work as a handler and bring these beautiful animals out to do educational programs!I’m so happy that I found this sub, it’s so nice to see my feathered friends get so much love 💕 everyone I know irl is so tired of hearing me talk about birds lol This is Luna, she’s an 8 year old, grey morph, eastern screech owl. She got injured falling out of her nest as a baby. Her physical injury is completely healed now but when she was being rehabilitated (at a different facility then where I work), she imprinted on humans, which is why she is with us now. Luna basically thinks she is a person, and thus wouldn’t thrive in the wild, as she sees us as friends and food givers. She is a super sweet and chatty girl, and I love working with her 💕 she actually calls to people she recognizes as a way to say hi, which is just so cute 🥰🥹
