Post Body

After their foes flee to the South Island, Clerdos comes to the realisation that they need a true navy. Converted fishing boats will not be enough. The charred husks of enemy vessels are examined, and plans are drawn up. An improved military harbour is constructed in Clerdos, with a raisable chain across the entrance. The highest tower the city has seen is built, with a series of flames and bronze mirrors, to act as a beacon for ships.

The ship plans are as such: The workhorse of the fleet, the Pythak: 150 rowers, in 3 banks on each side. Space to carry 50 soldiers, or half the amount of soldiers and about 50 slaves as well. 50 metres long, with a shallow draught allowing operations in shallow water.

The light scouting Hydrak: 60 rowers, 30 on each side. Can carry 20 troops in an emergency, but would be dangerously overloaded. 20 metres long with a shallow draught.

The ponderous Okeanos: 300 rowers, in 5 banks on each side. Space to carry 100 soldiers, or half the amount of soldiers and about 100 slaves as well. Platforms for siege weapons. 60 metres long, with a deep draught. Stabler in the open sea, but cannot enter shallow water.

Note: effects of this event: a harbour is built in the 150k region I own, taking 4 months. The ship descriptions are just lore until I spend an event building them.
