Are bigger boards just generally more fun?

Right now I'm trying to decide between the Retrospec Weekender Plus (10'), and the Weekender Tour (11'). I'm about 200lbs, and if I had a cooler and dog on the board total weight would end up being around 250lbs. I would mostly be on inland rivers and lakes, so calm water. I used this page to determine that the total volume of the board should be somewhere between 250 and 350 liters. I think the Weekender Plus comes in around 300 liters, and the Tour maybe 325 or more (total volume of each is not listed on their webpages). Both are the same width @ 30 inches. I guess my main consideration is that I don't have a lot of trouble paddling around, and that the board moves through the water somewhat effortlessly. Is it better to err on the side of a larger board if you have any doubts about what you need? Thanks!
