The stupid hotline
Post Body

I have been in a bad place for a while so recently I've tried calling the "National Suicide Prevention Hcotline" but the couple times I've tried it I had awful experiences.

Are people really just accepting this one "simple" hotline to seriously give any help to anyone desperately in need? I've called then 3 times recently and have had to wait at about 2-3 minutes before speaking to an actual person each time. My experiences haven't been any better after they pick up the phone either. I'm usually greeted by someone who sounds like they're just miserable or terribly bored and has no interest in what I have to say. I have felt worse after each time I've called but I was hoping I was just unlucky with the people I was paired with.

We really need a better resource for people seriously struggling in these situations. (Coming from a person experiencing this at the moment I'm writing this.)

Does anyone know of a better resource for people struggling with an unsafe thought like this?
