Giving spouse permission

My spouse has had a rough life. Then I came into her life and she says that gave her meaning. But over the years, things have degraded. She is still haunted by her demons. And she has done things that hurt me. She hates herself for it. She thinks I hate her for it. She asked that I give her permission to die. I don't know how to do that. I don't know if I can do that. But I don't know that it's ethical NOT to give her that. What do I do?
