Ok so I’m a lifelong dirt bike guy, always had MX bikes, a few dual sports, and currently an 05 450EXC. As I’ve gotten older I don’t really ride with the enduro guys I used to ride with and I’d like to go further from my local riding areas without loading into my truck. My KTM is street legal but even the 10 miles I ride to the woods will rattle your fillings out. I’m looking for opinions on the most offroad capable light/middle weight ADV bike. I think my days of single cylinders are over so I’m not really considering any of the 650 single class bikes. The bikes I’m thinking about are: KTM 950/990 Adventure, Tenere 700, Aprilia Tuareg 660, and maybe a BMW F800GSA. Any of those will undoubtedly be better for the pavement but I’d like it to still be able to handle whoops, logs, some small jumps, and some singletrack.
I’m leaning towards the 950/990 but curious to see what others have to say.
