Looking for a reliable laptop for some gaming and university

Recently bought a Legion Slim 7i but it had some hinge issues so I'm going to have to return it. Been looking for a new laptop, but with most, if not all student discounts gone, most of the gaming laptops are either out of stock or too expensive. My price range is around £ 600 to £ 800, maybe willing to stretch it to £ 850. I was looking at the Legion 5i (i5, 1660Ti, 8gb ram, 512gb ssd), however, I am slightly wary of Lenovo's quality control issues and given that it's been a week since they said I could return the laptop, they are still yet to start the return & refund process, I am losing faith in their customer service. I am also looking at an ASUS ROG G15 (5600H, 3050/3050ti, 8/16gb RAM, 512gb ssd). The 3050ti/16gb RAM model is at a good price on Amazon but I have to wait until Lenovo refunds my money to get it and there's only 1 model left.

I want a reliable laptop with good cooling that will last me for many years to come. Looking for a laptop with at least 8gb ram, AMD or intel is fine as long as it's either an i5 or a 5600H. In terms of the graphics card, the lowest I'm willing to go is a 1650Ti but that's at the very worst case. Ideally I'd like to have a 1660Ti. Storage is 512gb SSD at least. Anyone have any suggestions?
