LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

  • Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:
Between $600 and $800. Country of purchase is the United States.
  • Are you open to refurbs/used?
I would definitely prefer something new, but am somewhat open to refurbished.
  • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
I value battery life and performance the most, though in general I think they're all mostly-equally important.
  • How important is weight and thinness to you?
I would prefer something lighter/thinner, but it's not a dealbreaker if it's heavy.
  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
My old laptop was 15" and I always thought that was too big. Maybe around 13".
  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
I occasionally use photo editting apps but not always (just a side-hobby) and nothing complicated or too serious.
  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
I don't know the technical of the settings but something open to light editing would be good. It's not required though.
  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
    I would like a touch-screen (it's what I'm used to) and a good keyboard (I type a lot).
  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
My last laptop was an HP so I prefer that, but it's not a requirement and I'm very loose about this because I don't really know the specifics of these brands. I am a Windows user, though.

Thank you!
