looking for something durable and long lasting and absolutely panicking about it please help
Post Body

i have a 2012 macbook pro which up until now has done pretty much everything i want a laptop to do. a couple years back i tried to get into gaming and obviously that couldn’t happen super well with the laptop i had so i just played some basic games and didn’t worry about it. well, now my mac is starting to entirely crap out and i know i’m going to need something new after 6 years. ive never bought a laptop for myself before so i’m looking for some help here. i definitely don’t want a new mac, as the new ones don’t fit any of my needs. here’s what i need: -something that will last long. if it’s going to break in two years, i don’t want it. -something that will run art programs and games reasonably. i want to be able to play portal 2 without worrying about breaking my entire computer. it doesn’t have to be incredible in this aspect, just reasonable. -something that can handle fairly heavy work with audio (i’m a producer) -at least two usb ports -preferably a disc drive but not essential -at least a 15 inch screen -a fairly intuitive UI -under $1000

if you have any suggestions i would love to hear them!
