Hello, I recently started vanlife full time, and I want to treat myself to a new laptop for my birthday today since I won't be able to play my Xbox/PS4 for a while.
I am looking to keep it around 6-800. It will mostly be for single player games, but I would like to know that it will run most games at a decent enough frame rate to play online when I have the chance. I would also like to be able to play on low-medium settings for a few hours (~3-4) off the charger if possible.
I have been strongly considering this one https://www.bestbuy.com/site/acer-nitro-5-15-6-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i5-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1650-1tb-hard-drive-128gb-ssd-black/6344387.p?skuId=6344387
It's the Acer Nitro 5, with Intel core i5 and NVIDIA GeForce gtx 1650, is this a solid choice or are there better options in my price range?
Thanks
Total budget and country of purchase:Â 800$- US
Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. good battery life is key, followed by graphics card bang for buck
How important is weight and thinness to you? not at all
Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. windows please
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. at least 15, if there's a good 17 in my range I'd be all over it.
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. I'd like to be able to play single player games like Civ, Warcraft, Assassin's Creed, Horizon Zero dawn
If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? the only games I know for sure are League of Legends, Skyrim, The Outer Lands. I'd like to be able to run games at a solid 40 fps, and at medium settings at worst. Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? battery is big for me, would like to get a couple hours of gaming off cord if possible
