Post Body

  • Total budget and country of purchase: -$500 or less, United States (if there are above $500 laptops that consistently go on sale am willing to wait), refurbished is fine.-

  • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. -best specs for money is most important but good batt life is a plus-

  • How important is weight and thinness to you? -6 on a scale from 1-10 with 10 being best-

  • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. -Windows-

  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. -13"-14" maximum-

  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. -Very light solidworks, ChemCAD, Matlab are his main programs that he is using as an engineer. Would like to be able to run, but we do have a computer lab he can use-

  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? -I think he plays fortnite, but not very much. Not too much for gaming, more for productivity.-

  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

    • None -
  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. -My friend fried his macbook with a dab pen charger (lol). He would like something that can run those CAD programs but it's not a necessity. He does standard college stuff like homework, web browsing, youtube, occasional light gaming. Would like the best value for a laptop rather than a dedicated gaming/productivity laptop-
