Total budget and country of purchase: About $2000, up to $2200
Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications to your requirements for the money? Pick or include any that apply. The best specifications for the money. 2 in 1 and good battery life are not required.
How important is weight to you? Reasonably important, seeking a laptop that can be used as a laptop. While it will not be carried around often, it will not remain in one place.
Which OS do you require? Windows, Linux, Mac. Windows.
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. Smaller than 17 inch.
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. If you have no requirements, put N/A. Gaming.
If you're gaming (leave blank if you put N/A above...), do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Cities Skylines (with a fair amount of mods, assets), running smooth enough to play up until a large population. Civ VI Skyrim (Doesn't have to be on highest settings, but being able to play med-high comfortably without any performance issues.) EU4 & SC2.
Seeking an acceptable performance for the price, games don't have to run on the best settings.
Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable business grade build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? A touch-screen is not required, a good keyboard is preferable.
Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I am seeking something reasonably thin and compact, hoping to avoid laptops that are huge. Looking for something that is purchasable in Australia (of course), and am generally interested in what you guys come up with.
