Post Body

  • Country of purchase: USA

  • Budget range: $600-$800

  • Purpose: Gaming, desktop replacement

  • Screen size preference: 13"

  • OS preference (Windows/Mac/Linux): Windows 10

  • Gaming requirements (list example games and desired fps/settings): Final Fantasy XIV (Medium settings, 60 FPS) | Fallout 4 (Medium settings, 60 FPS) | Minecraft (Max settings, unmodded) Would love to see it be able to run Star Citizen at all if that ever debuts.

  • Other performance requirements: Video streaming of the games above would be a plus around the 720p range.

  • Portability requirements (constantly carried, frequently moved, mostly stationary, etc.): Mostly stationary.

  • Brand preferences and reasons (already owned accessories, familiarity, business compatibility): This will be my first laptop since my 2001 HP Pavilion laptop. I've heard great things about ASUS, but my input isn't strong either way.

  • Any particular style that you like (examples are great): None.

Qualities I would prefer.: Build quality/long battery life.

Which features would you pay a premium for?: Durability and longevity.

I work as a project manager and would love to be able to pack up and work from the road if need be so portability and durability is a plus. At home, I plan on connecting the laptop to an external monitor/keyboard/mouse at my desk.
