Post Body

  • Country of purchase:

 United States

  • Budget range:

$1000-$1500

  • Purpose (netbook, ultraportable, mainstream, gaming, desktop replacement, etc.):

Gaming and College classes.

  • Screen size preference:

At least 15"

  • OS preference (Windows/Mac/Linux):

Windows, not sure which is best for gaming. Willing to pay for OS.

  • Gaming requirements (list example games and desired fps/settings):

Older games, Dark Souls(s), Fallouts, Skyrim, newer games, GTA 5, Fallout 4. Smooth gameplay, 60 fps at least. High but not highest graphics settings. I want to be able to run the HD mod for Skyrim as well as other games.

  • Other performance requirements (video editing, CAD, etc.):

 Just gaming.

  • Portability requirements (constantly carried, frequently moved, mostly stationary, etc.):

Carried and moved constantly. Weight isn't a problem, durability is important. That and a hard drive that won't crap out from being moved.

  • Brand preferences and reasons (already owned accessories, familiarity, business compatibility):

I haven't owned many laptops, but I don't want Dell or Toshiba.

  • Any particular style that you like (examples are great):

Style isn't a huge problem. I just care about performance.

Which of the following qualities would you prefer? (Choose one or two)

  • Long battery life -vs- Low weight -vs- High performance:

Long Batt life and High Performance.

  • Build quality -vs- Low price -vs- High performance:

Build Quality and Low Price.

List any critical features:

Temp control.

Which features would you pay a premium for? (eg. high resolution screen, great keyboard/touchpad/audio, low noise/heat)

High resolution screen( I don't need 4k though), TouchPad, low heat.
