I'm looking to buy a new laptop since the graphics card in my current one has burned out
I would like to get a mid-range laptop that is capable of playing some games, as well as doing my codework, but it doesn't need to be capable of running for instace GTAV at 60fps on high settings

I was considering the following laptops:
Aspire E1-771G-73634G50Mnii

Toshiba SATELLITE L50-A-1DF

Am I looking to high-range?
Is the price on those acceptable?
What would you guys recommend

Questionair thingy below:

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

  • Country of purchase: Netherlands

  • Budget range: up to €800

  • Purpose (netbook, ultraportable, mainstream, gaming, desktop replacement, etc.): It needs to be portable enough to lug around between two residences and take to work/lectures, yet it also needs to be powerful enough to play mid-range titles and be able to properly do coding work

  • Screen size preference: 17"or 15" would both be fine

  • OS preference (Windows/ Mac/ Linux): Windows

  • Gaming requirements (example games and desired fps/settings): Victoria 2, Europa Universalis IV and CK2 for CPU performance, FNV at 60fps would be fine enough

  • Performance requirements (video, CAD, etc.): N/A

  • Method of computer support (office supplier, college bookstore, self support): no preference

  • Brand preferences and reasons (already owned accessories, familiarity, business compatibility): no preference

  • Any particular style that you like (examples are great): I don't mind the looks as long as it doesn't have a metallic surface (my current laptop has this and it scratches everywhere)

  • Which of the following qualities would you prefer? (Choose one, the other, or balanced)

  • Long battery life -vs- Low weight: balanced

  • Build quality -vs- Low price: build quality

  • Low noise/heat -vs- High performance: balanced

Would you pay a premium for something that has:

  • High resolution screen: Yes

  • A great keyboard: No (I'm unsure what makes a keyboard great)

  • A great touchpad/mouse buttons: no

  • Great audio: yes

List any features that are critical: (e.g. Optical drive, USB 3.0, SD card slot, ethernet port, HDMI port, bluetooth, VGA port, removable battery, glossy screen, matte screen, etc.)
ethernet port
USB 3.0
DVD player
