Hello computer whizzes,

My trusty computer of many years is no longer turning on. This HP was dedicated for...um..."adult usage." I like to keep a separate PC so as to not cross any proverbial wires crossed. So it's time to replace the PC with a dedicated function.

I searched and saw similar posts in years past, but there were a lot of technical specs that exceeded my understanding. I'm hoping someone can suggest a few options for a basic laptop to be used for streaming, saving pics & videos, and making basic documents. Good online protection is also key. If you could suggest models instead of specs that would be greatly appreciated. Ideally would like to have budget (<$500) middle of the road (<$1,000), and expensive ($1,000 ) options. Somewhat loyal to HP and will not use Mac. Otherwise I'm wide open.

This is a serious question so if anyone is willing to make suggestions I'd appreciate the insights. We're all human at the end of the day. Thanks in advance for your help!
