Looking for a simple gaming laptop for older games and some simple steam games

Basically I'm looking for a laptop to play really simple games on steam without lag issues.

Simple as in games like:

It's not for any platinum games as those are primarily being played on my Xbox x but I need something a step up from my Chromebook but not overkill for what I'll be using it for and besides basic game I might play other games like og Rome Total War or Majesty.

Budget would be $500 max

Any suggestions would be appreciated and taken into consideration!
