LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE
- Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:
- Purchasing in the United States. My budget is around $2,000, but I am flexible if it really makes a big difference for some reason.
- Are you open to refurbs/used?
- I would prefer not to buy refurb/used.
- How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
- RELIABILITY!!! Performance while gaming and battery life while doing school work (not gaming). I am a pre-med student and plan on going to med school later.
- How important is weight and thinness to you?
- Not of the utmost importance as I currently use a Razer Blade 15in from 2021. It does need to be portable enough for me to take to class and pull out in a lecture hall on a daily basis.
- Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
- I like 15in, but I am open to anything!
- Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
- I am a pre-med student, so when I am not gaming I am just doing school work on things like Excel, Word, Chrome, Outlook, Tor. I do game though. I typically play games like Elden Ring, CS 2, Rainbow 6 Siege. I would like to be able to play a lot of different games, but I am totally cool with playing on Low/Med settings on more intense games. I just want to be able to somehow achieve an enjoyable experience in the listen games and more!
- If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
- As I said above: I typically play games like Elden Ring, CS 2, Rainbow 6 Siege. I would like to be able to play a lot of different games, but I am totally cool with playing on Low/Med settings on more intense games. I just want to be able to somehow achieve an enjoyable experience in the listen games and more! I understand that I will most likely not be getting 144hz 4k out of a laptop that is also portable, etc. I just want to be able to play most things at some level of graphics.
- Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
- An HDMI port and at least 2 USB A ports a long with at least 1 USB C port. I would love finger-print or face recognition, but that is not a requirement.
- Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
- I am open to very many suggestions, so these guidelines are relatively loose. Just please suggest me something! I am sick of this Razer Blade as I have not found it to be very reliable. It blue screened the other day and I have had display and battery issues. It is time to find a more reliable computer.
Thank you to those of you who took the time to complete this and help me out <3
