Dell G15 for engineering

I'm thinking about buying a Dell G15 5520 with i7 cpu and rtx 3060 gpu for my civil engineering studies and for works (and for a little bit of gaming on the side). I chose this laptop because I would use it as a workstation, plugged in a monitor which would be used as a hub.
Is this a bad choice? Is there a major flaw that I've missed in this laptop?
