Shipping seems very expensive, how to reduce the costs

I am in the process of my first haul and I am just waiting for my last few items to arrive at the warehouse before I send my parcel which is at 6.12kgs and they are estimating CNY 1,054 to ship to Australia.

Does this sound about right?

What can I do to bring down the cost of shipping? (I will request for the tags and packaging to be removed)

Finally, I have noticed some of these say that they are sensitive goods which a quick google means that some couriers can not accept but I am unsure why as they are all clothing.
