I understand her as a plot device, but what is her deal? It’s not like Holly Hunter’s acting was bad it’s just the character is so one note, she has only one mood. Her motivation and writing also don’t seem to make any sense. Like ending Shiv’s dream to be CEO wasn’t going to invite a backlash from the most poisonous and vindictive human on the planet? Like she’s surprised when she realizes she’s fallen into a viper’s nest?
We never glean anything about what makes her tick. She’s the only character I just don’t understand.
