In the first season it feels like they are building to something with Roman hiring that personal trainer. There’s even a scene where the personal trainer sees Roman in his office and Roman teases him and then says something to affect of “I’m ready to go on this fitness journey”. I thought it was going to maybe going to develop into a story about Roman’s sexuality but it just stopped and the personal trainer was never seen or heard of again. I’m just curious what happened there, though I think the most likely explanation is the writers just changed their minds.

Similarly with Roman, when he meets the guy at the management training classes I thought that may go somewhere, since later when Roman is taking on the phone he mentions that me “met a Diamond in the rough.” and wanted to bring him in. I was really excited for that because I love the actor Zach Cherry, and him and Kieran Culkin played so well off each other. I’m guessing that storyline stopped because Zach joined the show Severance as a main character. The world desperately needs a Kieran Culkin and Zach Cherry buddy comedy.
