Hi! I’m a college student getting my degree in Early Childhood & Childhood Education. I’m a senior now and I thought I’d apply to be a substitute to get experience working with kids and running a classroom before I student teach. Well the other day a school called me and asked if I could do an interview! I’m really excited but also nervous.
I’ve been asking for advice from family (I have a lot of teachers in my family) and my aunt (6th grade teacher) suggested that I have some activities in my bag that I can show the interviewer, so they know I’m prepared with things if there’s downtime (so like if the students are done with their work but we still have time left). I’ve been looking some up, but I also wanted to ask you guys as well.
The school is an elementary school that goes from grades 3 to 5. What activities, supplies, etc. would you recommend I bring to the interview?

Yeah only one district I work for even had an interview and it was super breezy. It was basically just checking I was who I said I was and that I’m not a head case lol. I ended having a casual chat with my interviewer(head of HR) since we both went to the same university for the same major.
